Making Medicines More Affordable
About AstraZeneca

We've offered patient access programs side by side with our medicines for more than 25 years

At AstraZeneca, we recognize that our responsibility and mission to improve patients’ lives through innovative products goes beyond making medicines. It includes helping to improve access to medicines. In 2004, we provided more than $765 million in savings to 800,000 patients without drug coverage throughout the US and Puerto Rico.

The following AstraZeneca programs are designed to help those most in need:

  • The AstraZeneca Patient Assistance Program. Helps low-income, uninsured US residents of all ages. Eligibility* is based on income, assets, and whether or not you have prescription drug coverage. Patients who qualify receive medicine† free of charge conveniently delivered to their home.
  • The AstraZeneca Caring Partners Program. Streamlined patient assistance program that helps qualifying* hospitals, community health centers, and community free clinics better serve their low-income, uninsured outpatients. Qualifying* patients who receive treatment at these facilities receive AstraZeneca prescription medicines† free of charge.
  • The Together Rx™ Access Program. Free drug card program that offers 25% to 40% savings (sometimes more*) on prescriptions for over 275 brand-name drugs. Low-income Americans who are not eligible for Medicare and have no prescription drug insurance can qualify.
  • Partnership for Prescription Assistance . Helps low-income, uninsured patients better understand potential drug coverage options and the manufacturer assistance programs they can access. Through a Web site and call center, patients can find the public or private programs that best meet their needs. More than 275 public and private programs are available, including 150+ assistance programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.

AstraZeneca is part of this industry-wide effort coordinated by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). We are pleased with our efforts in this area, and we look forward to furthering our work in patient access throughout the coming years.
