About AstraZeneca

Be Alert. Be Aware.

According to the FDA, counterfeiting happens less frequently in the US than in other countries. This is due to the strict guidelines, regulations, and enforcement the agency provides throughout the US. For this reason, the overall quality of drug products that consumers purchase from US pharmacies remains high.

It’s still important to be alert to the possibility of counterfeiting. You can protect yourself by doing the following:

  • Purchase all prescription medications from US state-licensed pharmacies, or from Web sites operated by US state-licensed pharmacies. The safety and effectiveness of medications purchased from other sources cannot be guaranteed.
  • Examine your medications carefully. Pay attention to altered or unsealed containers or changes in the product packaging.
  • Contact your physician, pharmacist, other health care professional, or AstraZeneca, if you:
    • Notice differences in the physical appearance or taste of the product.
    • Experience new or different side effects.

If you suspect that an AstraZeneca product you have purchased may be counterfeit, please contact the Information Center at AstraZeneca in the US at 1-800-236-9933.
